Mathematics Mastery by Ark Curriculum Plus, established in 2012, is a non-profit organisation, dedicated to supporting teachers in providing consistent, high-quality education to all pupils. In particular, Mathematics Mastery is targeted towards supporting disadvantaged children. It aims to level the playing field, so that every young person can succeed.
Ark Curriculum Plus pioneered the mastery approach: our work in the UK led to the Department for Education’s adoption of a mastery approach to teaching mathematics in 2014.
Born out of Ark Schools, where 42% of pupils come from disadvantaged backgrounds, we believe closing the attainment gap starts with teachers. The brilliantly sequenced curriculum integrates pedagogical expertise with professional development, classroom planning, delivery, assessment and intervention resources from Reception to Year 6. The integration of these components has been designed to liberate teachers to focus on the most impactful teaching while building maths subject expertise and confidence.
