Professional development and planning as a team

Consistency through putting your mathematics team at the centre of professional development

“The co-planning of lessons is the task that has one of the highest likelihoods of making a marked positive difference on student learning.”

John Hattie, ‘Visible Learning for Teachers’, 2012

How do you develop a deep understanding of curriculum coherence and consistent approaches within your team?

Understanding each unit starts with our Departmental Workshop – an opportunity for colleagues to create a shared understanding of the subject content and the disciplinary knowledge central to that unit. Slide 5 in this slide deck shares the key task chosen for the weekly departmental workshop and is the starting point for your professional development and planning as a team.
